授業の概要 ／Summary of the class	週２コマの授業を行います。英語のプレゼンテーションの教材を用い、プレゼンテーションやディスカッションなど音声活動を中心とした実践的な授業を行います。授業はすべて英語で行われます。

成績評価方法及び採点基準 ／A scholastic evaluation method and marking standard	平常点30%（講義内でのアクティヴィティに対する参加度、プレゼンテーション）30%、Review Test(40%)、課題提出（30%）を総合して評価します。 There will be no exam. Tests and assignments will be submitted through the https://github.com/treesize internet based portal, the use of which will be explained in class. All students will need to sign up for a github account (by visiting github.com) and inform the lecturer of their account name during the first lecture meeting (any account name is okay).
予習及び復習等の内容 ／Contents such as preparations for lessons and the review	予習：毎回必ず次回で扱う範囲をチェックし、そこで扱われているトピックについて下調べをしておくことが求められます。そして、そのトピックに対する自分の意見を考え、講義内でどんな議論ができるかを準備するようにしてください。テキストには人文社会科学で頻繁に用いられる表現や語句がたくさん出てきます。それらについても十分調べ、修得できるようにしておきましょう。

留意点・予備知識 ／Point to keep in mind, back ground	To gain the most from attending lectures, you do need to prepare in advance by reading the textbook chapters. Also, do think about the exercises in advance. Online support from Cambridge University Press that accompanies the book should also be accessed.
