Concretely: 1．Study Tsugaru culture 2．Learn about "place" and increase awareness of local culture 3．Practice fieldwork and presentation skills
授業の概要／Summary of the class	Students will study about their own, local culture, then using the global language of English, communicate their thoughts about it in their own words. Using the Tsugaru Life: English Through Local Topics textbook in a CLIL (content and language integrated learning)-style classroom, students will study both English and increase awareness of local culture that is not often featured in tourism materials. Based on this increased awareness, they will conduct fieldwork and give an English presentation on their findings. Both the mid-course and final projects will be oral presentations, the latter of which will include a poster. Students will think carefully about the process of determining their presentation topic, and use fieldwork, interviews, and archival research to discover new information, which they will organize into a coherent perspective for their final presentations.

The final presentation will be about Tsugaru culture specifically, and include a poster presentation. Students must engage actively with these materials in order to produce fruitful projects. ・As a CLIL class, students will study contents and English language in parallel.
