授業としての具体的到達目標 ／Concrete arrival target as the class	To learn chemistry and its neighboring fields. To learn understanding phenomena based on chemistry and chemical skills required.
授業の概要 ／Summary of the class	Understand that everything related to our daily life is comprised of chemical substances. Understand that chemical reactions cause many phenomena such as "rusting" and this knowledge leads to technologies such as an internal combustion engine. Understand that the development of chemistry has benefited our lives, but has also caused many problems such as pollution. Learn about the history of chemistry, which has been developed by our great predecessors who were fascinated by various phenomena through the eyes of chemistry.
授業の内容予定 ／Contents plan of the class	The following is a list of lecture contents and the name of the lectures. However, this list does not indicate the order of the topics. The order of the topics might be changed depending on the schedule of the lecturers (the charge for business trips, conferences, and meetings). 1. Orientation (Chounan) 2. 成績評価方法及び採点基準 ／A scholastic evaluation method and marking standard	At the end of each class, a quiz (10 points) or mini-report (10 points) regarding the content will be given. The quiz or mini-report will be given 14 times in total, and the total score of 140 points will be converted to a perfect score of 100 points for evaluation. Please note that if you are absent, you will receive zero points for the quiz or the mini-report.
予習及び復習等の内容 ／Contents such as preparations for lessons and the review	Preparation and review are essential to learning at university. Classes should be considered as a supplement to that. For this reason, be sure to obtain the textbook and read the textbook before the classes. (120 minutes for every class) Also, as a review, you should solve the end-of-chapter problems after the lecture. (120 minutes for every class)

留意点・予備知識 ／Point to keep in mind, back ground	It is not necessary that you to have completed chemistry in high school. We will give priority to understanding phenomena, and try to minimize the usage of calculation formulae, which was a major part of exam chemistry. We hope that students who do not like chemistry will find fun in chemistry field, and students who are major in chemistry will feel the reality of chemistry that was not be experienced  in exam-chemistry.
