授業としての具体的到達目標／Concrete arrival target as the class	○ To be able to properly use the basic vocabulary and grammar of academic English ○ To be able to understand various academic fields such as those covered in liberal arts courses at the university, especially through listening and reading activities.
授業の概要／Summary of the class	○ Based on the fact that you have studied 4 skills-specific subjects in the 1st year, integrate these and improve your ability to use them widely. ○ You will be able to use English as an international common language by communicating in plain English with people from various cultural backgrounds.

成績評価方法及び採点基準／A scholastic evaluation method and marking standard	1. Participation (Class activities): 20% 2. Group presentations related to a theme of a class: 20% 3. Midterm: 20% 4. Final paper: 40%
予習及び復習等の内容／Contents such as preparations for lessons and the review	Review of class activities through the use of textbook and other activities will be expected. Each week students will be required to participate in the discussion. You will also be required to complete a final task and presentation.

留意点・予備知識／Point to keep in mind, back ground	Attendance, active participation, and self-study outside classroom are very important for language learning. Therefore, keep the following in mind: 1. Students are expected to attend every class. Students must attend 2/3 of all classes in order to pass. 2. Students should not be late to class. 3. Self-study time outside of class is expected to be twice the time spend in the classroom: 180 minutes of self-study for 90 minutes of class. Study systematically.
