授業としての具体的到達目標
/Concrete arrival target as the class
In this course you will acquire practical listening and speaking skills for everyday life in an English-speaking world.
Students will develop knowledge to express themselves by following content from the textbook, but also creating their own stories as play scripts to perform in class.
授業の概要
/Summary of the class
Classes are practical, centered on using English in scenarios that are encountered in everyday life.
All classes are conducted in English. Strong emphasis will be placed on building up confidence to use English.

In addition to the main weekly class there will be an additional supplementary class meeting each week, for a total of 30 class meetings. This will provide an opportunity to delve deeper into topics raised by the textbook and script writing tasks.

/Contents plan of the class
Classes will follow the second half of the textbook and will include reviewing play scripts related to the covered topics and giving group performances to the class.
Activities outside of class require writing the play scripts and reading the textbook material to prepare for class.

Class time will be given for reviewing play scripts, rehearsing for class performances, and making class performances.
成績評価方法及び採点基準
/A scholastic evaluation method and marking standard
Evaluation will be based on points awarded for class participation of both the main class and the weekly supplementary class, and points awarded for play scripts written throughout the course. There is no final exam.

/Contents such as preparations for lessons and the review
It is necessary to prepare by reading the textbook ahead of class. You will also need to write play scripts and be prepared to revise your writing based on the feedback you receive from members of your group. You will also need to rehearse for play performances to the class. As a natural outcome, you will improve your English expressiveness.
