〇Understand the mechanism of mass spectrometry, and acquire the skills to apply this technology to structural and quantitative analyses.
〇Laern the skill of the structural analysis of compounds by performing actual measurements using a mass spectrometer.
授業の概要
/Summary of the class
This course will teach you how to operate mass spectrometers and analyze the structures required as an engineer with a master's degree.
Mass spectrometry is widely used for product quality control in the food and pharmaceutical industries and forensic and environmental investigations.
This technology is essential in many fields.
授業の内容予定
/Contents plan of the class
The detailed schedule will be announced.
1: What is the method of measuring mass? Principle of the mass spectrometer, characteristics of various ionization methods, high-resolution measurement, and isotope distribution analysis
Part 2: Principles and features of GC-MS: Principle and features of LC-ESI-IT-TOF-MS, principle of CID fragmentation of peptides and its analysis, and deconvolution and protein mass analysis in LC-ESI-IT-TOF-MS High sensitivity measurement using nano LC-ESI-IT-TOF-MS
Part 3: Principles and features of MALDI-TOF-MS
Part 4: Overview of the instrument
Part 5: Starting up the instrument and checking the program
Part 6: Basic measurements
Part 7: Applied measurement
In lectures 4 to 7, students will select one of the following measurement methods and practice it.
1) Measurement using GC-MS (volatile molecules, fragrances)
2) Measurement using LC-ESI-IT-TOF-MS (secondary metabolites, peptides)
(3) Measurement using MALDI-TOF-MS (protein)
8th analysis, discussion of analysis results
成績評価方法及び採点基準
/A scholastic evaluation method and marking standard
Attitude, understanding of spectrum analysis (50%), and report (50%) will be evaluated.
