授業の概要 ／Summary of the class	Through this class, students will learn about their own culture, deepen their understanding about culture near to themselves, use the global medium of English, and become able to express their personal thoughts in their own words. Using the content and English integrated learning (CLIL)-style textbook "Tsugaru Life: English Through Local Topics," students will learn English, learn about Tsugaru culture that does not appear in tourism guides, and in doing so raise awareness of local culture in their own homes. They will then conduct a survey about their home culture and present about it in English. The mid-term and final reports will both be oral presentations, and will include a poster presentation. Students will pay attention to the process and reasons for choosing a project theme, conduct fieldwork, interviews, and/or text-based research, and give presentations based on the information they find therein.

予習及び復習等の内容 ／Contents such as preparations for lessons and the review	Teachers will assign: 1．Read assigned parts of ”Tsugaru Life: English Through Local Topics” and study unknown vocabulary words 2．Conduct a small survey of your home culture for the final project 3．Reflect on and review the contents of each class In addition, use chat functions on Teams or e-mail to actively share your opinions or ask questions.

留意点・予備知識 ／Point to keep in mind, back ground	・For the final report, each student will research for him local objects or culture and present the results in English. ・In the interim and progress reports, students will make preliminary presentations on topic selection, research methods, etc. in preparation for the final report, based on the Research Skills learned in class. Please take the initiative and be proactive in your presentations. ・As part of content and language integrated learning, students will study English in parallel with the content.
