授業としての具体的到達目標
/Concrete arrival target as the class
〇 Understand the mechanisms that govern crop growth (predictive ability).
〇 Understand the types and functions of plant hormones (predictive ability).
〇 Understand how plant hormones affect crop morphology and yield, and clarify methods for crop improvement (problem-solving ability).
授業の概要
/Summary of the class
〇 Learn that crops are greatly affected by plant hormones and that their effects have a significant impact on yields.

〇 Learn the means of crop improvement by understanding the gene groups involved in plant hormone synthesis and their signal transduction.

成績評価方法及び採点基準
/A scholastic evaluation method and marking standard
Final grades will be determined based on continuous assessment, with a short quiz given in each class. The scores from all quizzes will be combined to make up 100% of the final grade.
Regarding the use of generative AI in class, only supplementary use for information gathering and problem-solving is permitted. Within classes and activities, it may be used only when the instructor specifically instructs students to do so. Uses in which AI is entrusted with the entire process—such as having it write the entire report—are not permitted.
予習及び復習等の内容
/Contents such as preparations for lessons and the review
As preparation, carefully read the relevant sections of "Taiz & Zeiger/ Plant Physiology and Development".
In particular, review thoroughly any parts that were not fully understood during preparation, both after the lectures and following the quizzes.
Preparation and review are expected to take 30 hours each.
