授業としての具体的到達目標 ／Concrete arrival target as the class	〇 身近な話題（興味、経験、パーソナルな目標など）、ローカル、そしてグローバルな課題などについて、読んだり他者の発言を理解したりした上で自己表現ができるようになること。 〇 異文化を背景に持つ様々な人とインタビューなどの活動を通してコミュニケーションをとり、分からないところについてさらに説明を求めることができるようになること。 〇 クリティカル・シンキング＝批判的思考の方法を学び、異なる視点を考慮しながら自分の意見を述べることができるようになること。
授業の概要 ／Summary of the class	〇 リスニング・スピーキングを中心に、リーディング・ライティング中心の授業「English Communication C」の学習内容と関連づけながら、総合的な英語力の基礎を身につける。 〇 様々な文化的背景を持つ人々とコミュニケーションをとるために、国際共通語としての英語を意識して使えるようになる。 〇 授業で学習したことを踏まえ、生涯にわたって主体的に学習し続ける習慣を身につける。
授業の内容予定 ／Contents plan of the class	Class 1 Orientation: Class Explanation, and Get-to-know-you Activities Class 2 Unit 1: Watch and Listen Class 3 Unit 1: Listening 1, and Language Development Class 4 Unit 1: Critical Thinking, Speaking Task Class 5 Unit 2: Watch and Listen Class 6 Unit 2: Listening 2, and Language Development Class 7 Unit 2: Critical Thinking, and Speaking Task Class 8 Unit 3: Watch and Listen Class 9 Mid-term Project (International Student Interview and Report) Class 10 Unit 3: Listening 1, and Language Development Class 11 Unit 3: Critical Thinking, and Speaking Task Class 12 Unit 4: Watch and Listen Class 13 Unit 4: Listening 2, and Language Development Class 14 Unit 4: Critical Thinking, and Speaking Task Class 15 Final exam (Vocabulary Quiz and Integrated Task) *The syllabus contents may change depending on the class progress. 成績評価方法及び採点基準 ／A scholastic evaluation method and marking standard	1. Participation（Class activities）：30% 2. Examination/Presentation/Paper/Project：40% 3. Assignments/Self-study：30% Total 100% Using AI is not allowed in the class.
予習及び復習等の内容 ／Contents such as preparations for lessons and the review	◉ Before Class: Familiarize yourself with the contents of the next class. ◉ After Class: Complete all assigned tasks, including the CambridgeOne digital workbook, which is to reinforce the unit lessons. Watch the pre-recorded lecture and follow the instructions for the next class. ＊毎回、講義内容をPDFでMoodle掲示をするので、復習と授業中のノートを復習すること。 ◉ Self-study: Use the resources in English Lounge (seminars, foreign-student conversation partners, English DVDs) and Library Academic Commons (English DVDs) to practice listening/speaking skills. Consult with English Lounge teachers for additional advice on classwork and English study.

留意点・予備知識 ／Point to keep in mind, back ground	Attendance, active participation, and self-study at home are important for language learning. Therefore, keep the following in mind: 1. Students are expected to attend every class. Students must attend 2/3 of all classes to pass. 2. Students should not be late to class. 3. Self-study time outside of class is expected to be twice the time in the classroom: 180 minutes of self-study for 90 minutes of class. Thus, study systematically.
