授業の概要 ／Summary of the class	〇 リスニング・スピーキングを中心に、「English Communication A」「English Communication C・D」の学習内容と関連づけながら、総合的な英語力の基礎を身につける。 〇 様々な文化的背景を持つ人々とコミュニケーションをとるために、国際共通語としての英語を意識して使えるようになる。 〇 授業で学習したことを踏まえ、生涯にわたって主体的に学習し続ける習慣を身につける。
授業の内容予定 ／Contents plan of the class	Class 1 Orientation: Class explanation, get-to-know-you activities Class 2 Unit 5: Watch and Listen Class 3 Unit 5: Listening 1, Language Development Class 4 Unit 5: Critical Thinking, Speaking task Class 5 Unit 6: Watch and Listen Class 6 Unit 6: Listening 2, Language Development Class 7 Unit 6: Critical Thinking, Speaking Task Class 8 Unit 7: Watch and Listen Class 9 Mid-course project Class 10 Unit 7: Listening 1, Language Development Class 11 Unit 7: Critical Thinking, Speaking Task Class 12 Unit 8: Watch and Listen Class 13 Unit 8: Listening 2, Language Development Class 14 Unit 8: Critical Thinking, Speaking Task Class 15 Final project *The syllabus contents may change depending on the class progress. 成績評価方法及び採点基準 ／A scholastic evaluation method and marking standard	1. Participation（Class activities）：20% 2. Examination/Presentation/Paper/Project：50% 3. 予習及び復習等の内容 ／Contents such as preparations for lessons and the review	Before Class: Familiarize yourself with the contents of the next class based on the schedule above. After Class: Complete all assigned tasks, including in the CambridgeOne digital workbook to reinforce the unit lessons. Watch the pre-recorded lecture and follow instructions for next class. Self-study: Use the resources of the English Lounge (seminars, foreign-student conversation partners, English DVDs) and Library Academic Commons (English DVDs) to practice listening/speaking skills. Consult with English Lounge teachers for additional advice on classwork and English study.

留意点・予備知識 ／Point to keep in mind, back ground	Attendance, active participation, and self-study outside classroom are very important for language learning. Therefore, keep the following in mind: 1. Students are expected to attend every class. Students must attend 2/3 of all classes in order to pass. 2. Students should not be late to class. 3. Self-study time outside of class is expected to be twice the time spend in the classroom: 180 minutes of self-study for 90 minutes of class. Study systematically.
