/Concrete arrival target as the class
Students will be able to:
(1) Apply core theories of Cognitive Linguistics to analyze linguistic data.
(2) Identify and explain conceptual metaphors, image schemas, and construal patterns in authentic examples.
(3) Critically evaluate research and theoretical claims in Cognitive Linguistics.
(4) Conduct and report a basic cognitive linguistic analysis.
(5) Improve their English 4 Skills (writing, reading, speaking, and listening)
授業の概要
/Summary of the class
This course explores how language reflects thought, meaning, and embodiment. Students analyze metaphors, categorization, image schemas, and constructions through real language examples. Activities connect theory to personal learning. The course requires students to complete a mid-term project and final presentation.
